REVIEW: Motto for Murder

 Motto for Murder
Author: Leslie Langley

The Merry Wrath Mystery series always has something zany and unusual going on. How could it not? The main character, Merry Wrath, is a  former CIA operative who retired after being outed publicly. She returns to her small hometown and becomes a....Girl Scout Leader.

Motto for Murder is book 6 in this series. And, it takes full advantage of the weird possibilities an ex-CIA operative/Girl Scout Troop leader vibe can create. Seriously, the plot of this one was all over the place. Wedding plans and jitters. New neighbors who may be spies.A string of arsons. Mix insomnia, cats who look like Hitler and Elvis, and Girl Scout events and you get a good picture of the craziness of Merry Wrath's life.

Most of the time I wouldn't enjoy a plot that was pretty much just all over the place. But....in this series....it works. Perfectly.

A fun, entertaining addition to this series! I enjoyed the book and will continue reading this series.

I am a bit weary of the love triangle/can't choose which man trope-y part of the ongoing plot though. I've been reading another long series that also has a love triangle that has plodded on and on and on for years -- with no hint of resolution. That series pretty much killed any interest I have in love triangles in cozy mysteries. I hope it doesn't drag out in this series as well.....not a fan.
